| The Martin Griffin Preserve (formerly the Bolinas Lagoon Preserve) is currently open to the public Tuesday through Friday. Observe nesting Great Egrets in one of the most significant and most studied nesting sites on the West Coast. Hike to Henderson Overlook for a bird's-eye view into the nesting site. Explore the eight miles of hiking trails, three ponds, historical education hall and nature bookstore. Bring a picnic. The preserve's birdhide and ranch yard is accessible to people with disabilities.

Directions
Option One: Take Highway 101 north from San Francisco, or south from San Rafael to the Highway One/Stinson Beach exit. Follow approximately 12 miles to Stinson Beach. Continue 3 1/2 miles north to the preserve gate on right hand side of the highway.
Option Two: Take Highway 101 north from San Francisco, or south from San Rafael to the Sir Francis Drake Boulevard Exit. Follow Sir Francis Drake Blvd. northwest for about 21 miles to Olema. Turn south (left) on Highway 1 and follow for about 10 miles to Bolinas Lagoon. Preserve will be on the left approximately 1 mile further.
Public transportation
The Martin Griffin Preserve is accessible by public transportation via the West Marin Stagecoach, though on a limited basis. Please check their website before embarking on your trip.
